Meet Sarah

Counseling has played a significant role in my life. It’s always been there when I’ve needed it, and I still do. I grew up in Oregon and Virginia (going back and forth between two wildly different realities) and consider myself bi-coastal. Living in both places was not always easy, but it expanded my capacity to relate to the experience of others and to embrace change. My inherent affinity for communicating and relating with people of all ages, interests, and backgrounds led to twenty-five years working in human services and higher education. And this, along with my own relationship with therapy, led me to pursue counseling as a profession. This has been my life’s passion. I truly love what I do.

In 2017 I finished my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Portland State University. My experience included a yearlong internship at William Temple House working with diverse individuals in transition. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon (C7590) and a Nationally Certified Counselor.

I am a Trained LifeSpan Integration Therapist and use LI widely in my practice.

I graduated of the Oregon School of Massage in 2003 and practiced as a Licensed Massage Therapist for seven years. This experience continues to inform my understanding of how we carry our lived experience in our bodies.

I completed a B.A. in Human Services from the University of Oregon in 1993, and for the next twenty-five years worked with children, youth, families and adults in community based organizations, workforce development, and higher education in Portland, Oregon.

For fun, I enjoy hiking, music, dancing and ceramics.
